 Money, Mississippi

Ben Roy's Service Station

This iconic project received funding for rehabilitation under the Mississippi Department of Archives and History Civil Rights Sites Grant, given its cultural and historical significance.  The structure underwent renovation for use as an interpretive center for the events that occurred at the adjacent Bryant Grocery and Meat Market - events that led to the murder of Emmett Till in 1955, and a site listed on the 2005 Mississippi Heritage Trust’s List of Most Endangered Historic Places.  Work included new roofing, painting, and interior finishes.
