The project was a new stage at Martin Luther King Park in downtown Clarksdale, on the banks of the Sunflower River. The stage is intended primarily to accommodate the large blues and other music and community festivals that are held in town. The stage was oriented north to mitigate the effects of the afternoon sun. All site grading was designed to be 30 inches or less after final grade to maintain the open feel of the site.
