Fountain Building
Greenwood, Mississippi
The project restored the historic Fountain Building, which once housed Greenwood’s premier department store and soda fountain. A wood canopy of period detail was designed and reconstructed based on historic photos of the building. The two upper floors were converted to house apartments, which were designed to complement the architecture of the existing building while meeting modern functional needs, including kitchens with appliances by Viking Range. Each floor features two 2-bedroom apartments, one of 1,450 square feet and one of 1,700 square feet and a 1-bedroom apartment of 1,200 square feet.
